The State of Connecticut Board of Education has voted to fund the cost of educating pre-school students who attend magnet schools around Connecticut for the 2012-2013 school year.  This decision is in response to a hearing that ruled that towns would no longer be responsible for providing this funding.  As this would be a solution for the current school year only, it would fall to the state legislature to address the long-term funding issue in the upcoming session (an estimated $43.8 million a year, plus $220.6 million to build the classroom space).
